How to play Duotrigordle — 32 boards, 37 shared guesses

One guess, thirty-two boards

Find 32 different five-letter words within 37 shared guesses. Each submitted word is scored on every unsolved board, so one guess can produce up to 32 rows of clues. Solving a board does not give you a fresh allowance; the 37-guess budget belongs to the whole game.

Type with your keyboard or tap the on-screen keys. Press Enter to submit and Delete or Backspace to remove a letter. Only words accepted by this edition’s word list can be submitted; the 32 answers are distinct and come from the same five-letter answer pool.

Normal, Sequence and Jumble

The three daily modes in this edition. The mode label is shown with the boards.
ModeGuess allowanceHow the boards are shown
Normal37 shared guessesAll boards visible. Every guess is scored on every unsolved board.
Sequence39 shared guessesOne unsolved board at a time. Boards ahead of the current one stay concealed until earlier boards are solved.
Jumble38 shared guesses, including 3 pre-filled guessesThe game opens with three scored guesses. You have the remaining submissions to finish the grid.

These allowances come from the current game code. Practice also exposes a Perfect challenge with 32 guesses; it is not a daily mode. The daily puzzle uses this site’s own sequence, not the original Duotrigordle sequence.

Read the tile feedback

Green = correct position. Yellow = present elsewhere. Gray = that copy is absent.

A green tile means the right letter in the right position. A yellow tile means the letter belongs somewhere else. A gray tile means that copy of the letter is not used.

Repeated letters are counted as copies. Against APPLE, the guess ALLEY has one green A, one yellow L, one gray L, one yellow E and one gray Y. The second L does not receive a second yellow match because the answer has only one L.

Greens are assigned first, then yellows from the remaining copies. That order matters: a gray copy can sit beside a yellow copy of the same letter. The strategy page’s four-green example shows why a row of green tiles is not automatically a solved board.

Controls and saved play

Daily progress saves in this browser as you play, and the homepage shows whether a daily result already exists. Practice puzzles are separate and can be restarted without touching the daily save. Settings control the display options supported by this edition.

Clearing site storage removes saved progress. The privacy page lists what is stored.

Where to go next

The strategy page starts with the 37-versus-32 budget, then works through a four-board candidate comparison, a four-green row that still is not solved, and the cost of a pure probe. Begin with the budget section if you want the arithmetic before you play.
